Bold architectural design

Hall D is a demonstration of true technological and architectural genius. This glass and steel structure covers a surface area of 40,000 sq.m, i.e. eight times the size of a rugby pitch! It will become the airport’s main terminal and bring its total surface area to 100,000 sq.m.

It was designed by its architects to look directly onto the outside world. Its glass façade (120 metres long by 16.5 metres high) will draw your eyes to the runways as well as the city.

Hall D is made up of several parts:

  • an overpass to take you directly to the terminal entrances
  • a Departures level (1st floor) with a reception area featuring airline and tour operator desks and check-in desks, a departure area with a large shopping area and a 2,400 sq. m. departure lounge.
  • an Arrivals level (ground floor) with an area devoted to luggage delivery and a public area to welcome passengers and those waiting to meet travellers.
  • a 160-metre-long glass gallery used to reach the other halls of the terminal
  • a semicircular boarding satellite, which provides access to the aircraft via walkways
